1819 - Wöhler Wine Wholesaler founded
2001 - A Legend Returns!

Dear guests,

Welcome to the historic wine and beer house in Schwerin,
the Weinhaus Wöhler!

In April 2001 a popular and historic institution was returned to Schwerin with the Weinhaus Wöhler, restored to its original historic state.

If the court cellarer, F. A. Wöhler, could see the house today it would without doubt meet his approval. It was he who founded the wine wholesaler in 1819 and three quarters of a century later in 1895 built up an equally famous restaurant and wine bar and was made a supplier to the royal court.
Since then the Weinhaus Wöhler has been “the“ institution in the gastronomy and wine culture of the state capital  Schwerin.

“While the exterior radiates the charm of the last two centuries, the restored wine house offers the room and time for socialising.
The term ‘theme gastronomy’ is defined anew here in a fascinating fashion.

The guest rooms reflect an air of Hanseatic tastefulness, clad in wood, decorated with superior carvings, stylish furniture, pillars and beautifully painted leaded windows. Everything caters for a cosy feeling: in the
Bacchus Room’ with the imposing sculpture of the god of wine or in the small intimate Séparées, the
Wedding Room’ or the cosy, glass roofed guest room, designed in the form of a courtyard with access to the summer garden - a most attractive oasis in the city centre in summer.

An old arched cellar with an open fire offers an invitation to celebrate for friends and family circles. The wine bar, the Belétage with 4 salons for banquets, conferences or family functions, the theme local‚ the Tapas Bar, a popular venue for both younger and older people in the evenings. The Hotel with its comfortable, tastefully furnished guest rooms rounds out the comprehensive service offered to our guests.

The Wöhler team wishes you many happy hours in our house!
